Fernando Gaviria won two stages at the Tour de San LuisAt the recent Tour de San Luis, Colombian sprinter Fernando Gaviria won two stages. And now it seems that the AG2R La Mondiale team is a bit interested.

The 20-year-old is a double track world champion as a junior and the U23 Pan American champion, and he also has a World Cup victory in the track omnium at the elite level.

He was surely in excellent form in Argentina. He is currently preparing for the Track World Championships in February, while riders like Mark Cavendish (Etixx-QuickStep) and Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Merida) have their most important races later in the season and will hit top form then.

Gavira says that he will remain with the Colombian national team through 2015, but who knows what happens in 2016. According to L'Equipe the AG2R's director Arturas Kasputis has already met with Gaviria in San Luis to extend an offer for a future contract.
