UCI planning for 2013 WorldTour licences

Category: Cycling

UCI has announced 15 teams who have meet their sporting criteria, and those teams may automatically earn ProTeam status for the 2013 season if they meet the UCI's other licencing criteria.

The sporting critera means the results of the riders in the team.

The 15 teams are: AG2R La Mondiale
Astana Pro Team
BMC Racing Team
Cannondale
Euskaltel – Euskadi
(the former) Rabobank
Garmin Sharp
Katusha
Lampre – Merida
Movistar Team
Omega Pharma – Quick-Step Cycling Team
Orica GreenEdge
RadioShack Nissan
Sky Procycling
Vacansoleil – DCM Pro Cycling Team

UCI also announced some teams who may still earn a place in WorldTour, but the team's results are not as good as the teams earlier mentioned. Argos – Shimano, Lotto Belisol, FDJ, Team Europcar and Team Saxo – Tinkoff are the teams mentioned in a second list regarding sporting criteria.

Tomorrow, the UCI will tell some of the teams who have met the four criteria (sporting, ethical, financial and administrative).
